How I died, and how I was revived
By: River Porter
Character: Elenore LaWyn
Died -1685
I ran as fast as I could into an empty area, to lure them in. Soon they cornered me in a circle, my family, my friends, my neighbors, and people I’ve never met. My heart raced, I had to do this.
“Elenore, you can’t escape. This is your end,” my father told me. Every witch and wizard was spelled with a curse of darkness, except for me. For three years they were after me, trying to get rid of me, so they can take over the world.
“I know, and I’m fine with it, if it means you are all good again,” I told them, holding back tears. As they got closer, I had to do what the book instructed, take out my heart. They were confused as to what I meant, but slowly walked closer towards me. I have to do this now.
“In the times of darkness, there shall be light. Have this happen in peoples heart, by giving them mine,” I chanted the spell, put my hands towards my heart and used my magic to take it out. I started to float, I needed a majority of my magic to take it out, and the rest to split it amongst everyone. They all stared at me with even more confusion, thinking of what to do next. Eventually, my heart came out of my chest, and I split it amongst everyone there. As the goodness infected their hearts, I fell to the ground with not much time left to live. They were all dazed and confused when my father saw me on the ground.
“Elenore!” He yelled as he rushed to me. He scooped me up into his arms, tears in his eyes. “Elenore! Please wake up!” His voice was shaky as he cried, my little sister came up behind him, crying as well.
“It was the only way, I’m sorry. Try and make sure no one dies,” I told him. I didn’t want to come back, but I didn’t want to tell him that, I didn’t want to break his heart. My eyes opened as I took my last breath, I didn’t deserve to rest. Everything went black, and there was my grandmother.
“Come Elenore, let’s go see your grandfather,” She told me, as I took her hand and walked with her.
Revived -2024
My eyes slowly opened, I was staring at the sky. I jolted up. Where was I? I looked around, no houses made of wood, strange metal things on wheels. I realized what happened. No, they can’t be dead, I started to cry, I didn’t want to live again. I told myself as I put my hands over my beating heart. I look behind me,

You sacrifice will be appreciated and passed on throughout generations
My little sister, my father, my mother, how old were they when they died? I hear something farther in the distance, crying. I look around, and see people in black and the same stone structure I was at. People began to leave, and once everyone was gone, I walked slowly towards the structure and looked at it.

I was over 300 hundred years old? Is that why everything has changed? My heart went that long. But everyone was still dead, and my heart was broken again. There were no more witches or wizards left in the world, I was the only one left. I was hoping the spell was joking. If all the witches and wizards died, every piece of my heart would come back to me, bringing me back to life. I didn’t want that to happen. I wandered in the shadows for a little while behind the trees, not wanting to be seen for possible execution.
I studied the actions and words of the people around the areas I watched. They spoke differently but the way they acted was kind of the same. Quickly, I picked up on how they spoke, but I also realized the way they dressed was different, a lot of bright colors. My outfit isn’t like how most people think a witch dresses.
Witches wear long sleeved or off the shoulder shirts with ruffles, tight pants, corset, boots, all in black, with half up half down hairstyles. Wizards wear black long or short sleeved shirts with ruffles, black pants, white belts, black and white boots, and slightly long hair tied back.
We don’t dress how everyone thinks we dress, we do everything differently.
“Ma’am. We would like to talk to you," a cop said from behind. I’ve been spotted, time to take care of it.
